dating from the first part of the 19th century, this small William IV Rosewood bracket clock standing 35cm high has been fully overhauled and will be ready for the summer collection. The beautiful Rosewood veneer has been carefully cleaned to remove many years of old wax, grime and dust to reveal its original high gloss finish. There are no losses to the veneer and along with the brass inlay around the arch and brass corners caps it really does look splendid. The well made five pillar double fusee movement has been fully overhauled and comes with a full three year guarantee. William Mitchell and son was registered as working in Buchanan Street, Glasgow in 1835. There are also mentions of Argyle Street (1820-60) in Glasgow and (1851-1865) in London so it is possible he had a number of outlets. The clock with its lovely silvered dial and welcome strike/silent lever in the arch has all the looks of a London clock of its time.

As well as this, Overton Clocks has now decided to offer our customers the opportunity to purchase fine antique clocks that have been personally selected for their unique or special features.
