Very Rare Adam and Eve Automation Longcase Clock with Moonphase, Date Ring and Sweep Second by David Prowting circa 1790.
A beautiful flame mahogany case with reeded canted corners to the trunk and brass reeded columns to the hood. The hood having blind fretwork panel to the arched top and brass caps.
The complicated movement is very well made with three automated figures of Adam and Eve picking apples from the tree with a rotating serpent that revolves around the tree.
The regulator style large pendulum ensures that time keeping is maintained.
The stunning dial has a painted moonphase sub dial and a separate sweep second sub dial with integrated date ring set within this dial. The name of David Prowling either side of the hands.
